This Mountain Lion was hand drawn and glaze painted with USA-made food-safe glazes onto wheel-thrown stoneware.
The inspiration for this piece came from a news story of a two year old male mountain lion (known as 157M) who wandered into the urban jungle of San Francisco in 2026 causing a media storm. He was later successfully returned to the wild.
This is a completely original piece of functional ceramic art. The interior is discolored from an incident in the kiln which caused rogue clay to splatter inside. The pieces have been removed and the interior re-glazed making it fully functional but with visible battle scars as seen in the interior photo.
