Born and raised in Hong Kong and England, Goudie is a ceramic artist with a diverse Chinese and English heritage that inform and enrich her artistic path. Her visual and tactile sensitivity to clay builds on her background as a Veterinary Surgeon, honing the same sensory cues that detect physical anomalies, and that enable her to perform microsurgery. Goudie now calls the vibrant and creatively charged landscapes of California home.

“Working with stoneware intrigues me: it has a malleability to catapult thoughts into tangible existence, a fragility to testify to all impermanence, a memory to argue with the direction you push it in, and a durability to outlive and forget its creator.
